Medallion is a family owned business in the scent, fragrance, and flavor industry. While they are established in their field, they have zero web presence. The clients felt cautious of the web, but begrudgingly accepted that they needed a website to generate new business. Given their hesitations, they wanted a website that was vague and didn’t give away too much information about the company.

After doing a complete competitor analysis I discovered that the vast majority of their competitors had very sterile and compact sites, which focused on the science of the products. Instead I wanted to play up the nature of the ingredients and add value to the clients products, not just the science behind their process.

To offset the very straightforward and limited information being offered, I used oversized images to create an open, airy feel. Large typographic call outs delivered the most important facts while establishing a warm and approachable yet authoritative voice. To touch on Medallion's versatility as a company, I gave each page it's own color palette inspired by the ingredients.
